Privacy

The short version

Are You Into is built to be private. You do not create an account and you never tell us your name (a nickname is optional and only ever shown to the two of you). Your quiz answers are stored anonymously and are automatically deleted on a fixed schedule: an invite waiting for a partner lasts up to 30 days, revealed results are deleted 7 days after the reveal, and a purchased report is kept for 30 days after purchase. We never sell your data and we do not use cross-site advertising trackers.

What we collect and why

Your quiz answers, so we can compute what you and your partner both chose. They are tied only to a random, unguessable session link, not to your identity. Once both partners finish, the results show only your mutual matches; one-sided answers are never revealed to the other person.

If you choose to enter an email to have your results link sent to you, we use that address only to send that one email. We do not store the plaintext address alongside your answers; our analytics record only a one-way hash so we can count how many people did this, never the address itself.

How long we keep it

Session data, including your answers and any nickname, lives in temporary storage that expires automatically: within 30 days while an invite waits for a partner, 7 days after results are revealed, or 30 days after a purchase. After that the results link stops working and the data is gone. If you want to keep your report, use the Save as PDF option before it expires.

Analytics

We use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics to understand how the site is used (for example, how many people start the quiz). To count people rather than clicks, a random id is held for the life of the browser tab and discarded when you close it. It is not a cookie, it does not follow you between visits, and it is not linked to anything about you. Optional product analytics that set a cookie only run if you accept them in the consent banner. We do not run advertising networks or sell any data.

Your choices and contact

Because we hold no account and no identifying profile, there is nothing to log into and little to request. If you have a privacy question, contact contact@areyouinto.com. If you are in the EU or UK, you have rights under the GDPR; given that your data is anonymous and short-lived, in most cases the fastest way to erase it is simply to let the automatic expiry pass.
